BGE’s Tabletop Trade-In Buying Policy
BGE’s Tabletop Trade-In Buying Policy
Updated 7/15/25
At BGE’s Tabletop, we value our community and strive to offer fair and transparent trade-in options. Our trade-in program is designed with both our customers and our brick-and-mortar operations in mind. Below you’ll find the current breakdown of our trade-in policies for Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon cards. We take other TCG singles on a case-by-case basis.
💼 General Guidelines
-
All trade-ins over $150 in market value require an appointment.
-
We buy cards in good condition only (lightly played and near mint). Older or played cards may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
-
We provide cash payment via PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.
-
A valid photo ID is required for all cash or store credit trades.
✒️ Seller Agreement
Before completing your trade, you will be asked to sign the following:
I, ______________________ [full name], am willingly and knowingly selling cards or other collectible items to BGE’s Tabletop. I am selling these items in exchange for store credit or cash. These items are not stolen or counterfeit. If they are later found to be stolen or counterfeit, BGE’s Tabletop reserves the right to request a full refund.
Store credit issued by BGE’s Tabletop is non-transferable and may only be used by the original recipient. Store credit does not expire and may not be redeemed for cash, except as required by California law. BGE’s Tabletop reserves the right to revoke store credit in cases of fraud, abuse, or violation of store policies.

*Bulk Pricing:
Cards under $3 are considered bulk. If we notice multiple cards under this threshold during a trade-in, we may apply bulk pricing to the entire batch for efficiency.
Bulk pricing values cards at a flat $1 market value, with trade-ins at 15% store credit or 10% cash.

📌 Additional Note on Trade-In Evaluation
We use TCGplayer market prices as our baseline for evaluating trade-ins. However, we may decline or adjust the value of specific cards based on:
-
Sell-through rate (how quickly the card typically sells)
-
Condition of the card
-
Current inventory levels
-
Market volatility
These factors help us manage inventory responsibly and continue offering a healthy trade-in program for our community.
⏳ Please Be Patient During Trade-Ins
Our team gives priority to scheduled events and guest needs, so we kindly ask for your patience during trade-ins. Depending on store activity, you may experience a short wait.
Trade-ins take time to review accurately — we appreciate your understanding as we work to serve everyone with care and attention.
ℹ️ Why These Rates?
Our rates reflect the operational costs of running a friendly local game store, which include staffing, space, and time spent processing inventory. We aim for an average 40% margin to sustain our business and continue offering a space for community play.
We offer lower percentages on lower-value cards because:
-
They require the same time and labor to process and enter into our system as high-value cards
-
We already carry large quantities of cards under $5, making it difficult to sell additional bulk
We appreciate your understanding and support in keeping local tabletop communities alive!
