General Pre-Order Policy

We’re always excited about new releases and do our best to stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of tabletop games. There’s a lot coming out every month, from collectible card games to miniatures, board games, and accessories, and we want to help our community get what they’re most excited about.

Below you’ll find our general policy on pre-orders and releases, along with specific details for major product categories like TCGs, Warhammer, board games, and accessories.

If there's something you're interested in that we’re not currently carrying, let us know! While we may not always support every product with in-store play, we’re happy to explore whether we can stock it.

Please note: Publisher and manufacturer release policies can change. We do our best to keep this blog updated, and you can always check the last updated date at the top of this post for accuracy.

General TCG Pre-Order Policy

We typically wait to open pre-orders until we receive allocations from our distributors. Allocation is how much product we’re guaranteed to receive—this usually happens 1–3 weeks before release, depending on the distributor and our rep.

Why wait?

Our allocation impacts our pricing, inventory, and event planning. For example:

  • If we expect 10 boxes of a set and get allocated only 5, we have to raise prices closer to market value to make up for that loss in expected revenue.

  • If we get an extremely limited supply, we may reserve it exclusively for in-store play, especially since organized play participation affects future allocations for many TCGs.

Our goal is always to balance fair pricing, support in-store players, and maintain a healthy stock for everyone who wants to enjoy these games with us.

Magic: The Gathering

Magic is one of the most consistent TCGs when it comes to allocations. We’re almost always able to open pre-orders ahead of time for Play Boosters and Commander Decks.

Collector Products

Collector Boosters are often heavily allocated. When allocations are tight:

  • We limit to 2 packs per person per day.

  • If allocations are better than expected, we may open pre-orders. Your best source for real-time updates? Our Discord server.

Important Dates

  • Prerelease begins the Friday before official release, and we are allowed to sell full product (including singles) at that time.

  • Some items, like Gift Bundles, may release later per WOTC’s schedule.

Pokémon

When it’s hot, it’s hot—and Pokémon has had some of the most volatile allocation patterns.

Key Info:

  • We may only take limited pre-orders (5–10% of our allocation), usually for local pickup only.

  • We limit quantities on release day to ensure fair access.

  • Pokémon’s Build & Battle Pre-release Events happen one week prior to release, and we can sell product starting the following Monday.

Lorcana

Since Chapter 3, Lorcana’s supply has been stable.

Our Lorcana Release Flow:

  • We usually open pre-orders for booster boxes and starter decks two weeks before the prerelease.

  • Local stores can sell product one week early, and we host a Launch Party with achievements and prizes during pre-release weekend.

One Piece

Bandai’s One Piece TCG has had rocky distribution for us, but things have improved thanks to a new distributor.

How It Works:

  • We host a sealed prerelease event where players can get product early.

  • Participants may purchase a limited amount of product after the event.

  • We then sell the remainder based on allocation on the official release date.

Gundam TCG

This game is still brand new, and allocations are a big unknown for now.

Our Plan:

  • We’ll run official events to secure product.

  • Any product we receive will primarily go toward those events.

  • Similar to One Piece, we’ll prioritize event participation before wider sales.

Riftbound TCG

This is another upcoming title we’re keeping an eye on.

  • Check with us in early to mid-October for updates.

  • Join our Discord and let us know you’re interested in Riftbound so we can plan accordingly.

  • If there’s enough interest, we’ll look to host events and open up pre-orders.

Board Games, Warhammer, Accessories & More

These products often follow different release cycles, and allocations are generally more stable. However, some highly desirable products require us to place pre-orders before the distributor deadline in order to secure them. If we miss that deadline, there’s a chance we won’t be able to get the item at all.

Board Games

  • We place pre-orders for select titles based on community demand, industry buzz, and distributor availability.

  • If there’s a specific board game you’re looking for, reach out to us! We can often place a special order.

  • Board game pre-orders do not qualify for our 10% off pre-pay policy.

⚔️ Warhammer (Games Workshop)

  • We post Warhammer pre-orders in our Discord every Sunday, in accordance with Games Workshop’s two-week preview cycle.

  • We usually receive the items we request, but there are rare occasions where Games Workshop allocates product, and we may not get everything we order.

How our Discord process works:

Here is a link to the Sunday-preview for Games Workshop's upcoming new releases. If you are interested in any of these items, please reply in the channel before Monday at 5 PM.

We’ll react to your message to confirm your request has been received. If you don’t see a reaction by Monday morning, please send Dustin a DM to ensure we didn’t miss it. Be sure to check the link for the expected release date.

While we've been fortunate to receive everything we've requested so far, please understand there is always a small chance we won’t be allocated enough stock. This is why we do not collect payment until your item arrives and is ready for pickup.

🎲 Accessories & Misc

  • We regularly stock a curated selection of sleeves, dice, playmats, and other accessories from trusted brands.

  • If there’s a specific item or brand you’re interested in, let us know—we can often special order it before distributor deadlines.

  • We may place pre-orders for items we expect to be in high demand (e.g., exclusive deck boxes or themed accessories tied to TCG releases).
