BGE's Tabletop Raising Funds to Support Mental Health and Tabletop Gaming
BGE's Tabletop will close their doors two times a year to raise awareness about the positive impacts tabletop games can have on mental health.
We will be closed from July 8th through July 19th. And during that time we will be donating a portion of our sales to, Stack Up, a non-profit that supports tabletop gaming.
Why are we closing?
We are closing for two reasons:
- To give our team (a.k.a at this time Dustin and Grace) a much-needed mental and physical break. Work-life balance is very important to us and we want to make that clear in the actions we take as a company. As we hire new staff, this will be a break afforded to out whole team.
- To raise awareness about the positive impacts tabletop games can have on mental health.
Donating Funds
During the time we are closed we will be donating 10% of our net sales to Stack Up, a non-profit that supports US and Allied veterans by promoting positive mental health and combating veteran suicide through gaming and geek culture with their four pillar programs. You can also make direct donations to Stack Up.
A portion of sales of any order made online from July 8th through July 19th will be donated to this awesome organization!
Stack Up recently opened their community center, Phalanx, in Los Angeles!
Why are you closing for so long?
Normally, we will only be closed for two separate dice-say periods out of the year. So, why are you closing for so long?
When BGE's Tabletop started, we started as a podcast titled Board Gaming with Education. Rich Hill was a co-host on the show and this July he is getting married! Rich was a big catalyst to where we are today, and I am super thrilled to celebrate his wedding with him in Italy this year.
In the future, we will only be closed for two separate five-day periods out of the year-- likely in August and February.
